When should I book a building inspection?

It's best to book a building inspection as soon as possible after your offer on a property has been accepted. This will give you time to address any issues that are found before the sale is finalized.

How long does a home inspection typically take?

A standard general home inspection (GHI) usually takes between two and four hours, depending on the size and condition of the home. It can also take longer if you would like to do any additional inspections.

When will I receive my inspection report?

We strive to deliver detailed, clear inspection reports within 24 hours following the completion of the inspection(s). The completed report is a legal document so much care is taken to ensure the accuracy, which is critical information for the client.

What if the building inspection reveals issues with the property?

If the building inspection reveals issues with the property, you and your realtor can use this information to negotiate with the seller or decide to back out of the sale. We can also provide recommendations for qualified professionals who can help you address any issues.

InterNACHI® will pay up to $25,000 (USD; maximum collective aggregate) for the cost of replacement of personal property lost (and not recovered, restituted or insured) during an inspection and stolen by an InterNACHI®-certified member who was convicted of or pleaded guilty (or no contest) to any criminal charge resulting from the member's taking of the client's personal property. Claimant agrees that the exclusive venue for any action against InterNACHI® arising out of this Honor Guarantee is the District Court in Boulder County, Colorado. InterNACHI's Honor Guarantee is valid throughout the U.S. and Canada.
